Hi Billy,

I have been singing for six years and I got serious about singing two-three years ago. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds for a professional vocal coach so I have never had one. I know for a fact I do not sing correctly and I am worried because my throat always aches afterward (So I put myself on vocal rest for month) I do not know how to sing vibrato and no matter how many videos I have watched I have not figured out how to sing with my diaphragm. Do you have any tips to help me? (ESPECIALLY THE ACHES)

thanks-

I've sung in school choirs and extra choirs outside of school since I was in the third grade. It wasn't till the other day when my theatre and chorus teacher complemented my soprano vibrato voice, that I realized it was a good thing to have. I've always tried to get rid of it, because I thought straight tone was the best way to sing, and I'm starting to wonder if I've damaged my voice when I force notes. These days I have to put more strain on some notes. It's so strange to find out that something I've grown up hating is actually something others want.
